    Iten is a small town in Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya, situated in the western part of the country. It is approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) northeast of Eldoret, the nearest major city, and about 350 kilometers (217 miles) northwest of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.

    The nearest airport is Eldoret International Airport (EDL), about a 70 minute drive from Iten. Visitors can take a taxi or a matatu (shared minibus) from Eldoret to Iten. Kenya Camp guests will be picked up by private car.

  • Is it possible to train alone in Iten, without joining an organised camp?
    Sure! If you're not ready to join Kenya Camp, you can simply book your accommodation in Iten. There are several guesthouses, such as www.itenaccommodation.com. Most of these guesthouses host runners throughout the year. International elite and amateur runners simply book accommodation and food, and go about their own training in the Home of Champions.
